Interfaith dialogue: Spiritual attitude towards materialism
In conjunction with the UN International Day of Peace, an inaugural inter-faith dialogue will be held in Wagga Wagga featuring four key religions in the world. This event is organised by 'Our Common Word' where Potowa Buddhist Group is the co-organiser and proudly sponsored by Multicultural Council Wagga Wagga.

Geshe Tenzin Zopa will be back!
Geshe Tenzin Zopa is the lead character in the film documentary ‘Unmistaken Child’, about his journey seeking his spiritual guide (‘Guru’) who passed away. The film fully displayed his devotion and love for his Guru while seeking for a child whom believed to be the reincarnation of his Guru. This film has taken about 6 years to complete and had won multiple international awards. Geshe Zopa has also written a book about this search titled ‘Precious Holy Child of Kopan’.
Geshe Tenzin Zopa holds the honoured Geshe (Doctorate) degree from Sera Je Monastic University, South India having completed the 20 year monastic curriculum in just 17 years. He was ordained at the age of 9 by the late great mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog, received novice ordination from Geshe Lundrup Sopa Rinpoche and full ordination from HH the 14th Dalai Lama.
Under the direct tutelage of Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the great mahasiddha Geshe Lama Konchog and the most eminent of Gurus including those from the great Sera Jey Monastic University, Geshe Tenzin Zopa possesses vast scriptural knowledge, extensive teaching experience, has successfully managed major projects, has completed many retreats including a 6 month Highest Yoga Tantra retreat with the late Geshe Lama Konchog and is highly skilled in rituals, astrological observations and religious dance.
Geshe Zopa visited Wagga for the first time in November 2016 and will come back to teach again in Wagga and Albury during September. He will also represent Buddhism in Riverina's inaugural inter-faith dialogue to be held in Wagga Wagga (see details of event provided above).
